Hole saws for wood are designed for creating larger through-holes in wood and various types of wood-based panels. They are used whenever you need a hole diameter larger than what a standard twist drill bit can produce.
You may also find them referred to as hole cutters, hole saw drill bits, or wood-cutting hole saws. A hole saw removes material only around the circumference of the hole rather than across its entire surface. This makes it ideal for producing larger-diameter holes, for example during installation and assembly work in wooden materials.
