When to choose an HSS rotary burr

Choose an HSS rotary burr for aluminium, aluminium alloys, other suitable non-ferrous metals and plastics when you need an economical solution for less intensive machining or finer adjustments.

Choose the head shape according to the working area: cylindrical shapes are suitable for straight surfaces and edges, ball or rounded shapes for radii and transitions, and conical shapes for difficult-to-reach areas or chamfering edges.

HSS or carbide with ALU toothing?

Both ranges are suitable for aluminium and other suitable softer materials, but they are intended for different levels of workload and intensity.

HSS rotary burrs are the more economical choice for less demanding, finer or less frequent work.

Carbide rotary burrs with ALU toothing are the better choice when you need higher performance, a higher material removal rate or a tool for regular, more intensive or professional work.

For steel, stainless steel or cast iron, choose carbide rotary burrs with cross toothing. For higher loads when machining demanding materials, TiAlN-coated carbide rotary burrs are also available.
