Choose a carbide rotary burr with ALU toothing when machining aluminium and other suitable non-ferrous materials if you need higher performance than a standard HSS burr can provide.

For occasional, finer or less demanding work on aluminium, an HSS burr may be the more economical option. If you remove material more frequently, over a larger area or need higher working performance, the carbide version with ALU toothing is more suitable.

ALU toothing is not a universal replacement for standard carbide cross toothing. The different designs are intended for different groups of workpiece materials.
